The much-awaited Ghanada Samogro, painstakingly edited by Surajit Dasgupta, revived interest in our hero.
Onkarnath Bhattacharya earned the honour of illustrating each and every title, adopting a different style for the mature tales in book # 3.
Since the three volumes are very much in circulation, these sketches appear sparingly in our Ghanada Gallery.
The incomplete Mahabharatey Ghanada is yet to be included in Ghanada Samogro.

Unfinished Tale:
Juvenile fiction in Bengali is dominated by the ‘Da’-s. Tenida, Pheluda, Wrijuda, Pindida….
Ghanashyam Das was among the first to popularise this trend.
Ghanada’s zany yarns were originally decorated with a set of uber-cool drawings complementing his persona.
Sadly, only a sprinkling is gettable at present.
This website, a companion to our Facebook Page ‘Ghanada‘, ventures to display the illustrious Ghanada illustrations.
And more… if you’re keen!
